Advice and answers from the Kodable Team

A student code is a unique code generated by Kodable to identify an individual student profile. Student codes cannot be changed.

Your students can enter their student codes to access their Kodable student profile directly. It is recommended to use class codes instead of student codes in most classroom environments.

Student codes are great for:

  • Kodable Parent Accounts. These accounts do not have access to classroom features, so they must use student codes to log in.
  • One-to-One environments. Does every student have their own iPad or laptop? You can let them use their unique student code to access Kodable directly without having to worry about choosing their name from a class roster.
  • Additional Practice at Home. Want your students to continue their computer science practice at home? You can print off parent instructions from your teacher dashboard for students to take home with them.
