Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Clever Libraries and Clever Secure Sync?
Free Kodable users can use Clever Library. Managed at the teacher level, it allows teachers to add Kodable to their class dashboard, and students can log in using single sign-on (SSO).
Clever Secure Sync is for Premium+ and All Access users and is managed at the district level. It allows administrators to manage student accounts, access roster information, and reduce data errors through automatic syncing.
How do I manage students across multiple classes?
The Clever page allows Premium+ and All Access users to enroll students in multiple classes, enabling collaboration between different teachers and maintaining consistent progress.
How do I sync my data in real-time?
Use the Clever page's "Update Class Rosters" button to update your classroom data as needed, bypassing the district's syncing schedule. Use the Update Class Roster button.
What is the purpose of the Schools section on my Clever page?
The Schools section allows Premium+ and All Access users to view all the schools currently being shared with Kodable by their district. If you do not see a school, that means it is not being shared with Kodable from Clever.
How can I control which classes are visible on the Classes page?
For Premium + and All Access users, you can manage and hide classes that are not relevant to you, helping to organize and streamline your view. If you would like to make specific changes beyond hiding classes, you will need to reach out to your Clever admin to make those changes directly in Clever itself. For free users, you can add/remove classes with the Add/Remove button on your Clever page.
Why can’t I see some teachers in the Teachers section?
Only teachers shared by the district through Clever will be visible in the Teachers section. This feature is available for Premium+ and All Access users that are Account administrators on a Kodable school subscription for multiple schools.
How do I know which student data is being shared through Clever?
The Clever page provides data visibility and control, allowing you to see exactly which student data is shared and keep you informed. If you aren't seeing a student, be sure you check what is being shared from Clever.
How do I add or delete Clever managed classes?
For Premium + and All Access users, you will nee to make these changes directly in Clever itself. You do have the option to hide classes that are not relevant to you on the Classes page.
For free users, you can add or delete Clever managed classes on the Clever dashboard. First, go to the Clever page on your Kodable dashboard. You should see a blue Add/Remove classes on this page.
How do I add a student to a Clever Class?
Make sure the student was added and shared in Clever. Then, navigate to your Clever page on your Kodable dashboard and select "Update Class Roster". Remember, it could take up to 30 minutes for changes to appear.
What should I do if my data does not seem accurate or up-to-date?
Ensure you have added and removed all the appropriate Clever classes within the dashboard AND used the Update Class Roster function to refresh your data. If issues persist, double-check that the data in Clever matches what you see in Kodable.
Please note: If you are a Clever Free Library user and are using the Co-teacher feature within your library, Clever does not support this use case. This may cause inconsistencies in how your data appears and functions within Kodable.
Why do my classes in Kodable appear differently than they do in Clever?
Classes in Kodable will appear exactly as they sync from Clever—meaning, any class names or structures set up in Clever will carry over to Kodable without any changes. However, if you’ve used Clever’s nickname feature to rename your classes within their platform, please note that Kodable cannot retrieve these nicknames.
This means that the class name in Kodable will reflect the original name set in Clever, not the custom nickname. To change the class name in Kodable, you would need to update the actual class name in Clever, rather than using the nickname feature.
Can I use Clever as a Premium Teacher?
We are unable to support Clever Free Library usage for Premium Teachers due to the restrictions Clever places on their Libraries product. However, if you are a Premium Teacher, we offer many easy ways to roster students and ensure a seamless and simple login process.
