What is The Vortex?

With The Vortex, students can enjoy unlimited practice levels at home without affecting their classroom progress. These AI generated levels automatically adapt to each student’s current coding abilities, offering personalized challenges each time they play.

The best part? Families get one week FREE when using their class code.

Teachers, you can print instructions here to send home.

How The Vortex Supports Student Learning

Designed as an extension of classroom learning, this experience gives students a dedicated space to practice without replacing or advancing through classroom assigned levels. These levels keep kids motivated and engaged by introducing new challenges that reinforce the coding concepts they are already learning in class.

Benefits include:

  • Unlimited opportunities to continue coding

  • Differentiated levels tailored to individual skill levels

  • Ongoing engagement without running out of content

  • A safe space for extra practice that does not overlap with classroom assignments

Who Can Access The Vortex?

Students using a Kodable PRO account or an All Access school subscription have full access to The Vortex. These levels are available only outside of school hours and on weekends.

Families can also take advantage of a full week free experience, giving students the opportunity to explore Kodable at home before purchasing.

Where to Find the Vortex

Students can access Kodable by downloading the Kodable app or logging in at game.kodable.com.

To find Vortex, students should:

  1. Sign in using their class code

  2. Select Kodable Basics

  3. Click on Mission Control

  4. Select Enter The Vortex! on the left side

When Can Learners Access The Vortex?

The Vortex levels are available:

  • Weekdays: Before 7:00 AM and after 4:00 PM

  • Weekends: Available all day

These time windows are designed to support at home practice and enrichment outside of instructional hours. If a student attempts to enter The Vortex before 4 PM on a weekday, they will see a message prompting them to return once the levels unlock.
