What is Kodable Scope and Sequence?

The Scope and Sequence documents are designed to help you determine where to begin coding instruction with your students and how to access the teaching materials for each course.

Each document includes:

⭐️ Courses – Suggested areas and planets for students to explore
⭐️ Competencies – Key coding skills targeted in each course
⭐️ Resources – Direct links to videos and teacher guides

The documents are organized into three main categories: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Rather than being grouped by grade level, each course is labeled by difficulty using flame icons—the more flames, the more challenging the concepts and skills!

Beginner Coder

For students who have never coded before or younger students we suggest starting with the beginner coder scope and sequence. These courses will teach students all the coding basics and foundational skills needed for future courses.

Intermediate Coder

For students who have prior knowledge or experience with basic coding principals we suggest starting with the intermediate coder scope and sequence. These courses will review basic coding skills and expose students to more complex coding learning experiences.

Advanced Coder

For students who have in depth coding knowledge we suggest starting with the advanced coder scope and sequence. These courses will challenge students by exposing them more complex coding skills while also reviewing key foundational skills.
