What are Credits?

Kodable Basics introduced younger students to the concept of coins as rewards for progress. Now, with Kodable Creator for grades 3-5, this idea is elevated with an in-game currency designed to spark creativity and encourage exploration!

How can students earn these?

Credits, represented by a red and gold ticket icon, serve as the platform's currency for unlocking exciting features. Students earn credits by completing course missions and challenges. Stored in their in-game wallet, credits are visible in the Browse tab and on spending screens. These rewards provide a sense of accomplishment through:

  • Missions: Earn credits by completing missions or entire courses.

  • Challenges: Gain credits by conquering easy, medium, and hard challenges.

Spending Credits

Credits give students the freedom to personalize their learning experience. Options include:

  • Playing Custom Games: Accessing a peer-created game costs 1 credit, as does restarting after winning, losing, or pausing.

  • Quick Shuffle Mode: One free play per day, with additional plays costing 5 credits.

  • School and Home Usage: After-school hours (4 PM–6 AM) will allow free access to all activities.

The Benefit of Creator Currency

These are more than just a reward system; they’re a tool for fostering engagement and creativity:

  • Motivation to Learn: Completing missions and challenges to earn credits builds persistence and problem-solving skills.

  • Inspiration: Playing shared games sparks ideas for students' own projects.

  • Creative Freedom: Students choose how to spend their credits, promoting independence and exploration.
